1-3/8" 45° Chamfer

ID: H06

The first chamfer in the H series. 45° angle, 1-3/8” large diameter, bottom-bearing like H02’s roundover rather than H04’s top-bearing flush trim — the bearing rides the vertical face below the bevel it’s cutting.

Notes

CMT’s budget “Contractor” line, not their industrial 836 series. Same 45° chamfer job as the pricier 836.xxx bits, cheaper hardware. Fine for occasional edge work; reach for the industrial line if this one ever sees production-volume use.

Bottom bearing means the workpiece edge itself is the guide — no template needed for a straight chamfer, just run the bearing along the edge being beveled. For boxes and containers, that’s the whole appeal: consistent 45° edges on every side without extra setup.

Anti-kickback design, per CMT — a shallower rake limits how aggressively the bit can grab, which matters more on a bit this wide (1-3/8”) than on the narrower profile bits already in the drawer.
