Concrete Trays
The Concrete Trays are cast concrete catch-alls, made in two shapes: a round tray and a rectangular one. Both trays have a wave pattern set into the floor of the dish and are heavy enough to stay where you put them.
They hold the small stuff. Paper clips on a desk, a pepper grinder or bottle of oil, keys and coins by the door, a bar of soap and a sponge at the sink.
The trays came out of the same concrete work as the Cord Keeper and the Concentric Coaster. Same material, same casting process, scaled up into something you set things in instead of on.
Making it
Each one starts as a mold, then concrete: mix, pour, vibrate the bubbles out, cure, demold, and sand by hand. New trays went up in the shop at the end of 2017, and they sold alongside the rest of the concrete pieces at Good Day Market.
