Tissue Dispenser
The Tissue Dispenser holds a stack of tissues in a translucent acrylic tray with a solid maple plate sitting on top of them. You pull tissues up through the opening in the plate. As the stack gets shorter the plate rides down with it, so the last tissue comes out the same way the first one did.
With a standard cardboard box of tissues, once half empty, you’re reaching in to dig the tissues out or pulling the whole box with you. The better experience I was after was to weight the stack by just the right amount and have a smooth pull every time. Not to mention, it just looks way better!
Colors
Fluorescent yellow and green came first. Gold, rose, translucent green, black, white, khaki, and frosted followed. With the translucent versions, so the color carries the light, shadows cast on the surrounding surfaces in a very interesting way.
Making it
The walls and base are one piece, cut flat on the laser and heat bent into a tray. The plate is solid maple with the opening cut through it, sized to drop inside the walls and travel straight down.
They launched 2016 and kept going: NY NOW in New York, Renegade Craft booths, and other retails shelves around the country.
